Gyroball Strength Ball | Powerball Wrist Trainer
Whether you're a Gyroball fanatic already or you simply want to know more about what a Gyroball or Powerball is, you're in the right place! A Gyroball consists of a manually spun gyroscope within an outer ball that the user holds on to. Using your hand, wrist and arm you rotate the ball, which in turn spins the internal gyro, and the faster you can spin the internal gyro the brighter the neon led lights become, and the more gyroscopic force you create. It takes some skill to master as there’s quite a technique to it, but it’s definitely worth getting the practice in, as once you do, you won’t be able to put it down!
To get the Gyroball started, you wind the red chord inside the ball, then pull it out briskly to set the inner gyro spinning. Then using your skill you must keep the inner gyro spinning by rotating the Gyroball in your hand (this is where the technique and practice comes in), getting faster and faster as your skills improve. When your arm starts to get tired, try switching hands and see if you can keep it spinning with your weaker arm - this can be almost as funny as watching people try to throw with their weaker arm! That’s one of the points in using the Powerball though, it can also help improve the strength and co-ordination in those often underused limbs. The structure of the Gyroball will create an immense gyroscopic force which is what makes it such a great work-out for the player - you'll feel like your arm is being pulled around by a giant unseen magnet!
Now let’s talk about the best bit. The Gyroball has a built in RPM counter which, as you spin the gyro faster and faster, records the top Revolutions Per Minute you can achieve… now things are getting competitive. The more you train and practice your technique, the stronger your wrists and forearms will become, and you can constantly be working to improve your top results. The top score is recorded in the Gyroball’s computer, so you can compete between family members or friends to set the fastest RPM!
There’s some great benefits of using a Powerball too. Regular use can strengthen your grip and forearms which greatly helps with activities like playing musical instruments (especially guitar), or sports such as golf, tennis or badminton. It’s even been used for rehabilitation and relief from carpal tunnel syndrome and RSI. And let’s face it, if nothing else we all want that ‘death grip killer handshake’!
