Delivery
Orders are despatched by Royal Mail (1st Class) or by courier. Our couriers require a signature and operate between 9am and 5pm on weekdays, Please, ensure that your specified delivery address is somewhere where we will reliably be able to deliver and obtain a signature between these hours. Good examples of this are your place of work or a friendly neighbours. We, www.thediscoverystore.co.uk will deliver the products ordered by you to the address you give us for delivery at the time you place your order, the delivery will be made as soon as possible after your order is accepted subject to stock availability and mandatory security checks. We will make every effort to deliver within the time stated but we will not be liable for any loss caused to you by late delivery. Please ensure you place your order with enough time to prevent any loss or disappointment resulting from the delivery time, as we cannot be responsible for this. Please also note that although we aim to despatch all orders on the day they are placed, and deliver them within their specified time span, occasionally due to circumstances outside our control and also during busy and seasonal times of the year your order may be delayed. If this occurs please feel free to contact us at enquiries@thediscoverystore.net 2 days after the expected arrival date of your order.
This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
Orders placed before 4.00pm are despatched the same day from our warehouse. For orders received after 4.00pm on a Friday, next working day means Monday.
Orders will be despatched by Standard Delivery at £4.00 unless you select the option to upgrade to Next Day Delivery for £6.00.
Orders over £50 will be despatched by Standard Delivery free of charge, however you may select Next Day Delivery for £8.00 if required.
Standard Delivery – 1-3 working days via Royal Mail 1st Class £4.00.
All orders placed with our Standard Delivery service before 4.00pm are despatched the same day subject to stock availability and mandatory security checks. Please note that for orders received after 4.00pm on a Friday, next working day means despatched on Monday.
Next Day Delivery - Next working day via Courier or Royal Mail Special Delivery for £6.00, depending on weight. All orders placed with our Next Day Delivery service are despatched the same day subject to stock availability and mandatory security checks. Please note that for orders received after 12noon on a Friday, next working day means despatched on Monday.
Addresses in Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Offshore Islands are charged at £8.00 for Standard Delivery, we regret to advise that we are unable to offer a next day service for these locations.
Payment
The Discovery Store website uses a secure payment system operated by Sage Pay. Your credit/debit card will not be charged for the value of the goods until your order has been despatched to you. A delivery charge will be added to your order value where appropriate, please see the delivery schedule for details. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Order Cancellation
You may normally cancel your order for any reason up to the point of despatch. If you do cancel the contract within this time any payments made by you will be refunded in full within 30 days. To cancel your order please e-mail us on enquiries@thediscoverystore.net
Ownership of Goods
You will become the owner of the goods you have ordered once they have been delivered to you and they will be held at your own risk. We will not be liable for their loss or destruction, once delivered.
Pricing Policy/Availability of Goods
Discovery Store products are sourced, presented and packaged for you in The Discovery Store brand to make ideal treats for yourself, or family and friends. We monitor our prices and information carefully and endeavour to offer you good value at all times, the prices payable for products are set out on this website and are inclusive of VAT at the appropriate rate where applicable. However there are times when prices and availability of goods may be subject to change without notice, therefore please note that orders will be accepted if there are no material errors in the description and price described on this website. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the details and price of a product at any time. We will not be liable to you or any third party due to any changes as noted above whether or not that product has been sold.

We are a very small team of dedicated staff who take pleasure in providing you with our fabulous range of 3G’s (Gifts, Gadgets and Gizmos), from Helicopters to Head Massagers and a host of other exciting fun-generators. We pride ourselves on sustaining excellent customer service so we have a special feedback page just for you: ask questions, make suggestions and relay your brainwaves. Please note that the people responsible do tend to eat, sleep and play from 18.00hrs to 09.00hrs however, we are currently training them to eat less and stay awake for longer so soon you will be able to contact us later into the evening.
Faulty products
We take care to select and package your goods to ensure they arrive in good condition. If your product arrives in poor condition or is defective in any way we will replace, exchange or provide a full refund, please return the product within 30 days. You are responsible for ensuring the product is safely returned to us, we recommend that you use a secure delivery method that requires a signature upon receipt and provides you with a proof of posting. Please enclose a copy of the receipt and we will be pleased to refund the cost of postage. To return products later than 30 days after your initial purchase please email us at enquiries@thediscoverystore.net for more information. This does not affect your statutory rights.
How to Return Goods
For all returns, except where the item is faulty, you will be required to arrange and fund the return of the goods to us. The Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations
In the UK, only about three to five per cent of all household batteries are recycled. Most old batteries end up in landfill, where they can leak harmful chemicals into the soil. You can help tackle this problem by recycling your batteries anywhere you see the Be Positive sign.
Under the Waste Battery regulations, The Discovery Store are now offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries. You can return your waste batteries to our business premises in person (please do not post), a list of our locations can be found in the Our Shops section of this website. Alternatively, you can choose the most convenient option for disposal using one of the following options:

Most supermarkets and shops that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, why not form the habit of popping used batteries into your shopping bags ready for your next supermarket run?
Some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points, drop used batteries in when you pop into town.
Several local councils already collect batteries in the doorstep recycling collection, or provide bins at the local waste and recycling centre, check with your local council to find out what battery recycling choices are available in your area.
So do your bit for our world and dispose of your used batteries safely and prevent avoidable landfill!
WEEE Electrical Electronic Equipment Regulations
The amount of WEEE we throw away is increasing by around 5% each year, making it the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.
• Much of the UK’s WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.
• Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending electrical goods to landfill.
Distributors of new Electric and Electronic Equipment (EEE) have a part to play in reducing the amount of WEEE going into landfill sites.
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is now UK law. The legislation aims to make producers pay for the collection, treatment and recovery of waste electrical equipment.
The Discovery Store Ltd take these obligations seriously and under these regulations offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.
For example, if you customer bought a new Illusion Lamp from us we would accept your old Illusion Lamp and prevent it going into a landfill site by disposing of it safely. Customers must return their WEEE item, with a valid proof of purchase confirming their new purchase, to us within 28 days of purchasing their new item, it is the customers responsibility to pay for the postage of their returns.
To help you identify which products qualify Under the WEEE Regulations, all new electrical goods should now be marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste so that they can be recycled.
So do your bit for our world and return your old model to us for safe disposal. If you decide that returning by post is not for you, don’t put it in the dustbin contact your local recycling centre and they will advise you how to dispose of your unwanted object.
